How it works
In a typical curved smart-glass construction, a PDLC privacy layer forms part of a curved laminate. The switching principle is similar to flat PDLC glass: the powered state gives a clearer view, while the unpowered state appears frosted. Geometry and manufacture introduce additional constraints, so a flat-panel specification cannot simply be transferred to any curve.
The design review should establish the radius, chord width, arc length, height and relationship between adjoining panels. The supporting structure, edge connections and tolerances also need coordination. For a prominent feature, an approved sample or mock-up can help establish the expected curve, joints and optical appearance.
We also consider how the glass reaches its final position. Door openings, lifts, lifting access and the installation sequence can influence panel divisions. Send a plan and elevation rather than only a sketch of the finished appearance; this makes the early assessment much more useful.

Can you make curved smart glass to any radius?
Not every radius is feasible. The curvature, dimensions, glass build-up and active layer have manufacturing limits. SEG reviews the proposed geometry before confirming a workable specification.
Can smart film be added to an existing curved panel?
Possibly, but it needs a specific assessment of the curve, surface, film compatibility and edge connections. A retrofit approach should not be assumed to work simply because it works on flat glass.
Will curved smart glass look exactly like flat glass?
Curvature can change reflections and perceived distortion, and PDLC can introduce some haze. Review the expected appearance and, where practical, a sample or mock-up before approving a prominent installation.
